This whole theory started when a player said "1150s are the bane of my existence" and I had already observed this in my own games. So I started to wonder how that is possible. How can a player be good and yet be an 1150? Then it hit me

1150 is a sweet spot that decent players sink to on a bender because no matter how wasted you are you're beating a 1050. Yet you lose enough games to stay right at 1150. 1300s underestimate you constantly. Always the right moves. But you lose 8 games in a row drunk cause you cant sleep.

Right now for example I just hit 1150. I was a 1350 when I moved here, had been a 1400+ at my peak, and have been partying alot.

It seems like I'm making the same moves as when I'm winning. Yet I am losing to 1300s. Then 1250s. Then 1200s. Then you play 1150s and you immediately notice they are johnny on the spot. The 1250s play poorly but make good bold attacks. The 1150 play properly. That's how i know they are 1400s. About half of them I'd say.

When I get back into the 1300s I see 1200s as retarded. I swear I will never dip below 1300 again. And I believe it. Then I start getting wasted and it drops like gamestop at market opening
