You'll still see the banner ads periodically (unless you have AdBlock or some other blocking software), but those annoying 30 second ads at the beginning no longer show up.

Just delete the "you" and insert "hook" in your link before posting and voilà... no more waiting for "SKIP AD? ---->" ever again.

What (A.K.A. Curmudgeon-Bro) is trying to say is that add-blockers and/or browsers such as Brave which block them automatically are an essential and time honored way to view the web. He's confused as to how you operated on the net for the past two decade without using them.

ublockorigin and noscript are popular; the latter is a bit higher learning curve.

I like changing it to yewtu.be instead. Hooktube sometimes errors on me.

When I click on a yewtu.be link, it goes to youtube. Then I have to pause it, change it to hooktube and enter it again to avoid those ads.

(maybe Anticlutch is right about me being a retard)

Used to use them, they went down for quite awhile. The thumbnail didnt used to show up with them either, looks like it does now.

test: https://www.hooktube.com/watch?v=rCSkWIdTONA I don't get adds I use brave browser and pale moon but pale moon gets an add page screen freeze you just have to click to bypass the add.

OK... there's no difference between the youtube version ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCSkWIdTONA ) and the hooktube one.

I don't know why. Maybe because it hasn't had enough views? But once it does, I can assure you, youtube will place a 30 second ad at the front of it and keep 99% of the revenue.
