In a perfect world, what you propose would be standard procedure for white officers. And I believe there's probably some small segment of white officers already doing that to the best of their ability. By that I mean, that they're doing that up to the extent that it doesn't compromise their job or legal status. As more white cops are persecuted for trying to do the right thing in a racially volatile situation, there'll be more white officers standing down until after the smoke clears.
