That would have been the better headline. Police aren't obligated to physically interfere, so there wouldn't be a criminal case. Besides, then you could arrest the killer later and keep her behind bars beyond her reproductive years.

But when cops don't stop black-on-black crime, although they may get some blame, they don't spend the rest of their lives in jail, cities don't burn, corporate marketing departments don't take it as an opportunity to say "Fuck Whitey" at anywhere near the same amount, and politicians don't come out to say, "This is why we need policy X that will obviously spike violent crime, and we need to remove rights Y and Z which you might use to protect yourself."

Right now, any cop who's trying to help in the ghettos that are protesting against them is making a stupid mistake. That cop should have let those blacks kill each other. That neighborhood doesn't care - none of them, not the most hardcore "Black Lives Matter" resident there was going to come out and riot for a black killed by another black, even though it's constantly happening. They don't give a shit about black lives, so really why should we? They don't want the cops there, so why should that officer go risk his life and freedom there for $50k/year?

A few tweets, maybe minor news coverage to complain about "why didn't the cop save that girl??" Then the next day, we never hear about it again. That was the best case scenario, until blue cities and black neighborhoods stop acting like this.
