Based off my church this is what was going on

  • Jews were going with their own offerings to the tabernacle for sacrifice
  • The head priests would buy the sacrifices given at 50 cents to the dollar stating the offerings were worthless because they were not in the best condition
  • Said priests would sell them a different offering which was actually cheaper, and keep the more expensive offerings for themselves
  • They would then resell the offerings that they didn't want back to the plebs for 60-70 cents to the dollar

Generally, it was a massive ponzi scheme, and Jesus wasnt having it

It's not that hard to learn the difference between Judaic referring to ALL the people living in Judah, at the time and jewish.
