Just sell domestic production as being "green".

"Container ships and overseas shipping use MASSIVE amounts of coal and oil. It's destroying the environment! Thats why we need to bring manufacturing back to the west. Also think of the homeless and homeless veterans. Don't we want to give them opportunities unlike corporate america that just wants cheap slave labor that promotes INEQUALITY?"

Also, when selling this, always use "carbon emissions AND pollution." rather than simply "carbon emissions."

For the people that already believe carbon emissions ARE pollution, it probably won't do anything. But by changing an OR to an AND, people who are skeptical get to claim they are being

  1. fair and balanced

  2. while simultaneously supporting bringing manufacturing back to america

  3. the 'and' splits the idea of carbon emissions FROM the idea of pollution, drawing a subtle line between the two. The implication being that carbon emissions are something OTHER than pollution, which is a message worth spreading.

“It has been estimated that just one of these container ships, the length of around six football pitches, can produce the same amount of pollution as 50 million cars. The emissions from 15 of these mega-ships match those from all the cars in the world. And if the shipping industry were a country, it would be ranked between Germany and Japan as the sixth-largest contributor to CO2 emissions.”

Excellent talking points.

Hahaha... it was never about green. It is about being dependent on either China or Israel.

Use their narratives against them.

This might work on low level normals but the counter argument would be your racist against asians.

but the counter argument would be your racist against asians.

Fair point.

My response will be "us nazis LOVE azns. Just look at all the weebs lusting after slant eyed poon."

To the moderates this reads as sarcasm and makes the left look hysterical which is only to our benefit on the right.

The race card is pretty worn out at this point anyway.

The public has no say. The west is currently being flooded with illegals simply to reduce the cost of labor and destroy the middle class.

What are we going to make? it's got to be something that china wants.

[–] 1 pt

What are we going to make?

Patents. That the chinese actually pay for.

Agriculture.

Hell if I know.

I do know that U.S. technological progress, which china relies on, is being eroded by patent infringement.

Thats gonna come full circle and hurt china in the long run.

If china could get the middle men out of u.s. agriculture, theres a profitable middle ground for china and u.s. agriculture. Part of what causes instability in pricing, and why the ag sector negotiates so hard is because speculators already make it so hard to make money.

In fact, by destroying u.s. farmbill subsidiaries, the chinese could come in and wield much larger influence over the farm lobby in the u.s.

And because the farm lobby is solid red, they'd have congress by the throat.

^ You're onto something!

I've seen a few documentaries where people go around the world and ask foreigners why they are eating american fast food. They say that american food quality is much higher than what they are used to, that it must be healthy because it's never made them sick.

What if we continue to innovate the food mfg process, and start shipping our food all over the world? What if we allow our farmers to enjoy the fruits of capitalism, and fight for their rights against corporate moochers? What if we use GMO technology to increase the nutrient content and taste of food? Given how a lot of the world is approaching GMO's, we are in a unique position to fight back and beat china.

The only major danger I see is creating a system where american subsidized food is being sold internationally. In an ideal world american subsidies would only benefit america.

No I'm talking about the chinese and israels who currently control the u.s. realigning the farming sector in their favor in order to gain broader political control. Thats where my focus would be if I was Xi. Just an analytical/hypothetical scenario.

We would make things for our own good, not theirs.
