I sometime see these giant settlements, court winnings, etc and wonder about it. Once realizing you only actually *see* about 20% I find it all so unjust. Then I think about what I would do with that 8mil or so. I would probably spend about a mil either fixing up the land I own or getting setup out of town in a place with running water and some trees. You know, a place that *could* live without electricity if needed, yet setup with a decent ~5mbps line. Setup a gun range, garage, fishing shack, etc. Then I'd put another mil into prep stuff, then the rest into retirement stuff that I'll live on for the rest of my life or until I need that prep stuff. It's not complex, difficult, or really in need of mega-IQ folks to figure out how to use the money to set yourself up to live in paradise for the rest of your life.
