Way back in the way back, the strongest ruled until he wasn't the strongest anymore.
oversimplification.
polygamists rule by the strongest gets all the women.
gorillas and muslims.
monogamists like whites form power sharing agreements which reduce male on male violence and improve overall prosperity.
egalitarianism is sometimes a successful strategy.
There is always a balance between might makes right and egalitarianism in any society. No single society is all one or the other. There are trade offs with both.
You dont just outgrow religion because you figure out jesus isnt magic. Its how your brain works. Its just arrogance that makes you think that this period in history is somehow different than all the periods before it, and you are an advance model that has moved beyond the constraints of previous generations.
Answer this. If every WN believed they would go to valhalla if they died fighting the federal government what would be happening now.
No WN believe in valhalla and therefore we cower in our homes as we loose more and more of our country. So why do you think weve out grown the need for religion. radical muzzies are using their religion to their benefit. Every one is afraid to criticize mohomed. That is power. Religion is useful.
This lefty argument “some smart charletons invented religion to con the little people” is totally unsupportable. Religious behavior exists in every population— we are forced to infer that it is incredibly useful as a survival tool.
I dont think you recognize religious behavior in yourself when you see it but you should. Do you have a sense of right and wrong? Do you believe you should follow laws? Do you swear? Do you think its okay to fuck your sister if you use a condom? There is no rational reason you shouldnt do that if there was no chance of knocking your sister up. But you still wouldnt do it. Ask yourself why?
You aren’t a rational creature. Rational thought is not an efficient operating system for humans. Religion is. And you cant get away from it. Its how your brain works.
You're too far ahead in time in your arguments. Religion started way before that. Way before any understanding you have of history. It precedes fire.
And you are arguing points that we have agreed upon. Religion was and is a powerful tool to get a group of people to live by a certain moral structure for reasons beyond the current ruling classes consequences.
But you don't need any of that to have your own moral code and to live by it.
And as far as the personal questions you're about as far away from hitting the mark on what I believe in as possible. Laws should only be followed if you believe they are good laws. I cuss like a fucking sailor because who the fuck says words are bad thats stupid baby ideology. And my sister is fat.
Religion started way before that. Way before any understanding you have of history. It precedes fire.
No argument from me.
But you don't need any of that to have your own moral code and to live by it.
Where does your moral code come from. Ill tell you. From your ancestors followinng christianity for 2000 years. And some religions before that. Christianity shaped you because people who didnt follow christianity’s rules dont have descendents around today. Because they were burned at the stake. Your morals were determined by enforcement of christianity.
So please stop talking like your morals are universal morals that everyone will arrive at if they just decide to “be good” or whatever.
The religious regime that you live under is shaping future generations likewise. Maybe to be onlyfans. Religion is a tool of evolution which selects for certain traits just like being a farmer or a herder or living in a hot or cold climate will select for traits.
Do you realize you must establish a religious regime for a society to live under if you are to manage that society? It doesnt have to be a theist one. You cant just say: everyone live by your own moral code.
“You might get arrested” is not a particularly powerful incentive for some people to control their behavior. “You will burn for eternity” is definity a powerful incentive if you can get someone to believe it. Why do you assume the actual rewards and consequences of a behavior will be reason enough to follow the rules? Often there are no real world consequences for bad behaviors. But if “God is watching” you may feel you cant elude justice.
Christianity is dying. Why do you think none of this moral chaos is related to that event?
What? I dont think anyone should or shouldn't follow my morals. You don't know my morals. I follow my morals. You follow your morals. If they conflict we have an issue. If they don't great. As long as your morals don't harm my person or property idgaf what you do.
And why do you need someone real or imagined to tell you what the fuck to do?
