In all seriousness. I've been watching all the events unfold quicker than I ever imagined with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. If there is a road to reach you, they're going to fuck with you.

I've been looking at Alaska. Not because I want to, or because I think it'll be fun. I think it's going to be difficult, dangerous, and a lot of hard work. It's time to really get out while we still can. No one else is waking up. Those who are now aware and willing to fight are the only ones. The numbers aren't going to increase from here. In fact, they're only going to decrease because when push comes to shove, a lot of people pretending to stand for something will cave.

There's a wide expanse in Alaska that has no roads. This also means no electricity or city water. Who wants the latter anyway with all the chemicals? The benefits are that those areas usually have no property taxes. You buy it, it's yours, no need to continue earning the devil's dollar to pay him with. You build what you need, you hunt what you need, you garden what you can in the three to four months time you get.

I can't see things working out staying in the lower 48. Every time I go to town the people are wearing their masks so dutifully and so many of them have already vaccinated, people I never dreamed who would, have.

The price to stay in society is only going to increase.

Summers get hot. I spent one with no AC, lot of sweating. But high efficiency mini-split AC will run on solar. Hell I'm using a regular window unit this summer. Worst case I have to fire the generator, which I'm wiring into the inverter/batteries. Really good insulation will make the difference. I hung a blanket over the front door at night this winter, which got my cabin up to 65 when it was 0 outside. Actually had to turn down the air to the wood stove to keep from going higher.

I had about 6 ticks last year, and some chiggers. Doesn't really bother me. If you catch them same day you won't get lyme disease (or so my doctor told me). I only ever have known one person that got lymes. If you get some chickens and let them roam in the yard they will eat the ticks too.
