We also have a lower consciousness that encompasses selfishness cruelty low passions etc. To be a man is to be in the midst of this battle. To conquer another is all well and good, but to conquer yourself is where the real battle of life is. God does not mind you failing but ceasing to try is where God is displeased. Through the Cosmic Christ our failure is overcome, as long as we continue the fight. Psychopaths do not wage this war and gain enormous pleasure in giving pain.
