Seriously, it sucks. I know you're not supposed to go to work and enjoy it, but i feel like all im doing is cashing in the pay check, in return the company looks good for not firing people. Work is at a crawl, very little features being rolled out, even other departments are having trouble justifying their existence. And yet, young me would have left. Older me, says screw it, ill bend them for all they have and cash out as much money as i can. Company doesnt care about me, why should i care about them?

That is what a job is: nothing more than an agreement between the employer and the employee. You are nothing more to them than a cog that probably keeps their machine running. It is only when they discover your superfluousness that they will rid you.

Hell, when things get tough, expect to be canned despite being loyal and reputable.

If you are looking for 'meaning,' validation, gratification, or other aspect, expect to find it outside of work.
