There’s as yet no reason to believe consciousness can be manipulated in that fashion. Even if the Terminator body was a perfect copy of “you”, there’s no way of knowing whether or not you are going to be experiencing it.

It can and it will, it already might be happening.

That’s a faith-based position. I personally wouldn’t ever trust the technology, until they were demonstrably able to move consciousness from one vessel to another, in a safe and repeatable manner.
