On the whole of it? No. Obviously different writers modified or changed things in different ways. Get enough different versions, and you can excise the differences and get to something that is probably close to the truth.
As for telling Christian stories more concisely than their bible: you are aware that Christian mythos texts are labyrinthine, yes? Children's versions tell the same stories much more clearly and simpler. If your goal was to subvert a religion by injecting your own into it, why would you make it hard to understand?
