When Lincoln signed the Emancipation proclamation the south should have rounded up every nigger and pushed them into union lines across the mason -Dixon. Burdening the north to house, and feed a bunch of worthless niggers would have been the final straw for any support Lincoln had. The resources it would have drained from the north and the resources it would have freed from the south would have made the difference.
