I’m in my forties and eat over a dozen eggs a week and have done for my entire adult life. I’m fucking strong. I went for a complete health check up because I have some other chronic issues, my heart was described as “beautiful”, by the specialist. Guess eggs can’t be that bad for it after all.
Yeah, my wife goes to the doctor and comes home to tell me how unhealthy the stuff I eat is, but I'm still here and feeling great. I also fry my eggs in beef tallow, and never use any sort of vegetable oil. I think that much of what we're told about so-called eating right is there to make sure that the medical industry always has a good supply of customers.
I agree. Olive oil is great, canola oil or sunflower oil, and anything containing it, is poison
Yeah, wasn't Canola (rape seed) oil first used as a synthetic lubricant for industry and engines? Not to mention that without a lot of processing and chemical alteration, it's toxic. Yep, Olive oil is about the only vegetable oil I use, except for my deep fryer where I use a mixture of peanut oil and tallow. I know, a deep fryer isn't the healthiest thing to have around, but I don't expect to live forever anyway.
This. Canola, soybean, sunflower, and other vegetable oils that are used in damn near every processed food are likely heart disease culprits. Excellent book on how food affects gene expression, and how to get back to basics to reduce inflammation and disease.
I haven't seen that book, but thanks for recommending it. I'll look into it. I have looked at the research that shows heart disease increasing at the same time as the U.S. moved from animal fats to vegetable fats, which makes a lot of sense when you think about it. In our normal diets we would encounter animal fats and our bodies are made to handle those, but there's no natural way to have the amount of vegetable fats end up in our diets if we're just eating vegetables. And once they started hydrogenating the vegetable oils the heart disease rates skyrocketed. Plus, peanut butter cookies made with beef tallow are the best I've ever had. I think lard works the same, but I don't eat pork.
