A funny thing to do to any of your friends who are better than you is to play remotely. Get the smartest pc chess game you can find. Let your friend have the first move. Enter his moves into the game and you do to him whatever the pc does to you. He'll figure out eventually but likely not until he's lost some sleep over it.

It's dishonest as shit, but it's funny. I'm friends with an older guy who's a real life genius rocket surgeon type. He did it in the early 2000s to a no longer with us friend of his from college. US master.
The way he explained it they were playing with their own boards in different states by instant messenger. He said his phone rang after the 2nd game. Dude knew he was getting fucked somehow.
