The other factor is that Blacks mostly look to entertainment & sports as ways to a better life. Whites don't raise their kids that way. For whites it's like, go be in a play & have fun, but study hard in math class. The way youth sports are now, the time commitment is insane. You'll see fewer white kids even doing that, because their parents know being an engineer or doctor is a pathway to a better life than running or catching a ball. Winning Olympic gold is fine, but what about when you're 40 and your knees are starting to wear out? Again, it's all about long-term, not short-term, thinking.

I was born poor white trash. No opportunity. The only ways to make it outta the trailer park was through NASCAR or Bluegrass.
