  • This writer is so determined to let us know how cultured she is "We were hiking in the Atlas Mountains..." and all the stuff about her Dad being at Harvard.
  • They find out about people who gradually stop eating and drinking: Jains and some Buddhists have been doing this at the end of life for centuries, for example. But to her it sounds like torture. The wisdom of hundreds of years of religion and culture, but the MTV generation totes just knows better, like OMG.
  • Her Dad always said he'd just shoot himself if he went into decline. But he goes so far into decline that he ends up asking his kid & her husband to carry him into the woods & leave him there with his gun. If this was so central to his identity, he'd have just done it.
  • They consider using the nurse meds to OD him. But the nurse is actually ethical and only leaves enough for pain management, not suicide/murder. Oh, curse these ethical nurses who won't help everyone off their elderly father! Goddamn them!!
  • Hinted that the Dad, a 70s activist, was raised by a single Mom. He was born mid-WWII not during the Baby Boom. Like this is a family that seems to have adopted all the stupid lefty shit about not serving your country and not taking care of each other a good 20-25 years before the rest of the culture got stupid. Spics! Why are they even here!? But remember: Harvard. They're better than you, pleb.

I just: there are so many problems, to me, with this article. There are so many strategies besides legalizing the killing of old or disabled people. This is such a bad road to go down as a society. Should every 90 year old be constantly poked and prodded and operated on? Of course not! But this author is going into some dark corners (she talks about the cost of Medicare for example. These annoying olds sure are expensive. And why take care of your parents? Worrying about them will just ruin your tourist experience in Morocco.) Old people are PEOPLE. We don't kill them just because they're expensive. Human life has value. And then she just dismisses all the like, centuries of wisdom about people who get too old just decide to forego food. She just wants a quick, easy way out. Even if legalizing that way will surely lead to people killing their parents and disabled family members because "Eh too expensive. Too much work. When do I inherit??" And getting away with those murders.

ALL evil people have ONE thing in COMMON. They think WAY too much of themselves. MOST of us are NOBODIES. except THEM (to them).
