I really thought we would never have an ideological purge in the US. I thought we had learnt from the past, from the Holodomor and Mao and Pol Pot. But now that I think about it, I bet all those people who got purged also thought they had learned from the past.

There's a lot of these incurious people that are told what to think by the media. Their desire to help means they end up joining some infantile and destructive ideology, like communism.
