... but what’s really discouraging is seeing how many other users just immediately rush to the defense of the admins, kissing their nuts, and defending this obvious abuse of power.

Every year around (((Super Bowl))) time, I watch as millions of people descend into a demoralized state of being, level of consciousness etc ... in their minds, it’s perfectly okay for referees to make bad calls favoring their team, but they absolutely lose their shit when when it works against them.

See, normies don’t care whether the game is being played well or fairly according to the rules; they only care that their team wins - to hell with the rules!

What’s cool about a legitimate free-speech site, is that it’s devoted to a level playing field - where competing ideas can duke it out on their own merits. In that way, objective truth can be arrived at.

Obviously, great care must be taken to ensure that the system not be completely subverted.

But that’s not what I saw. I saw Partisans siding with the admins, making every excuse for them, on the basis that “we’ve seen how pointless free speech is!!”

Which is obvious demoralization. You all have been demoralized.

I’m not really interested in arguing about this: if it’s not against you, personally, you probably won’t give a shit. Until it’s your turn. I’ve watched as a bunch of otherwise “good” active posters decided to fling other “good” posters to the wolves. No interest in trying to understand whether the admins’ decisions were good, or just. Name-calling and shit-flinging. No attempt to find truth.

There’s absolutely no way a place like this can possibly remain usefully objective for very long. Admins will just ban whomever they don’t like, for whatever reason, without explanation - and it will simply be their personal political party.

I’m sure many of you will be perfectly okay with that. But it’s not what I’m here for. I’m here for the Truth.

I sure as hell won’t be pinging anyone involved.

I Watched Admins Ban a Guy For Spamming Useless Mentions To Admins (Wasting Their Time) While Violating The ToS

Admins will just ban whomever they don’t like, for whatever reason, without explanation - and it will simply be their personal political party.

  • Using Poal as a place to discuss, plan or engage in any action that would compromise security, tamper with system resources or accounts on computers at Poal, or any other site, is strictly prohibited.

Hey, I really tried to see your side, man. I know full well the dude’s annoying.

[–] 1 pt

I don't see where "wasting admin time" is listed as a bannable offence.

Nor is it at all clear how doing so falls under "tampering with system resources". There was no tampering; there was natural use of a site feature.

But you don't care; as OP points out (I don't dare ping him, since you ignored my for clarification on the acceptable use of pinging), it isn't about truth - it's about saying anything to justify one's will.

That's tyranny.

[–] 6 pts

He's been warned and continued to ping admins with empty messages.

That's tyranny.

I'm taking this gif and claiming it as my own.

[–] 0 pt

You sure do like that gif. But you don't like, apparently, is actually acknowledging the legitimate concerns of users.

Oh well. Poal never stood a chance to compare to Voat, anyway. Too much bitterness, not enough love of Truth.

Build your own kingdom. Welcome to life.

You realize the control you feel here is illusiory?

[–] 2 pts

Build your own asshole. Oh wait, you cant or you would.

Build your own kingdom. Welcome to life.

Ah, the same thing the left has been saying to us for years. At what point can we affirm that the public space is sacrosanct?

[–] 0 pt

See, that what I’m talking about. I don’t have any power in this situation. I gave the admin the benefit of every doubt. He can’t handle challengers. Truth is, ARM didn’t violate any terms of service. He was just being annoying. That’s why he got banned. That’s my point. “Being annoying” doesn’t violate any site rules. The admin is just pulling this out of his ass. It’s their site. They can do what they want. But I call it how I see it.

I blame Voat. Every month or two there'd be a day were everyone was apparently menstruating. No real discussion, just bitching back and forth.

[–] 1 pt

EVERYONE was a kike shill glownigger on those days. Even I've been on the receiving end of those insults before on those days.

If it was real menstruating and proportional they'd have died of blood loss before the banning.

Hold on now, if the mod has rules on the sub then thats that. There are subs here where one can be as as they want.

If I have a sub about Flying planes and someone comes in there and demands everyone admit non fixed wings are better well, after a while if he doesn't stop, I would ban him. At least for a while.

It's like coming in my house demanding I listen to raps music from your cell phone. I will say no and ask you to stop but after a minute or two, I will walk you to the door.

[–] 0 pt

I’m a mod on the sub in question. It had nothing to do with violating sub rules. It’s that ARM pinged a particular admin in various comments. Admin made this extremely tenuous and spurious claim that ARM was “abusing system resources”. It’s actually obviously because the admin was tired of people bitching. I get it, I understand the admin’s frustration. But the way he is handling it is absurd. It’s basically just a pissing contest, where he’s the only participant.

[–] 0 pt

Ok, I might or might not agree with you but I have to ask, what do you hope to accomplish by posting this? What is your objective?

[–] 0 pt

People need to speak the truth to power.

I like this site, and the community. But after what I saw, its objectivity is severely questionable.

[–] 1 pt

Interesting how all the faggots who whine about mod abuse are the exact same faggots who whined about downvotes on Voat.

Almost makes me feel at home.

[–] 0 pt

I’ve never said anything about it before. You must have me mistaken for someone else.

[–] 1 pt

Mm, nah.

[–] 0 pt

Pretty sure you have.

[–] 0 pt

Personally I actually am glad to see the most disagreeable people leaving Poal. They fucked up VOAT to the point that I couldn't recommend it to any of my friends.

[–] 0 pt

In this case, they’ve made a mistake. ARM is annoying, but he’s good. I disagree with him almost entirely, but he’s a valuable counterpoint.

[–] 0 pt

Then he should have known not to intentionally act like an asshole and waste sometime else's time.

[–] 0 pt

I saw enough to make me reasonably suspicious that isn’t what happened. And as such, I’ve got a moral obligation to speak the truth about it, and suffer the consequences.

I’m not saying it to be an asshole.
