What if I spent a few drunken nights here... planned to use it like all the other places I LURK like VOAT, but can't find the detailed discussion AND 100% perfect explanation on the "karma" issue? I'm REALLY active tonight because alcohol, the election BS, and personal reasons. I've been lurking for weeks, account, and no account. There is no CLEAR CUT explanation I can find on the reason to not down-voat something.

You do realize that this is self-defeating, right? The users making the posts don't want them in various subs, they want them in ... and you want them in various subs.

So what's the incentive to EVER put a post in the "correct" sub? I could literally make any post, put it in , and you'll move it for me. You are your own worst enemy here, because I'm now less likely to waste time putting a post anywhere other than since you'll do that work for me.

It's win-win for me, if you really think about it. Downvoting keeps sites like this healthy. Discouraging downvoting by punishing people who do it impedes the free marketplace of ideas. Downvoating is a big part of what made voat such a great platform for sharing, discussing, and debating ideas. It also enabled the users of the site to filter out spamming, actual malicious shilling, and bad content, such as child ludes.

Every comment should have the following options:

Agree. Disagree. Report as Spam.

This would give me the option to view truly controversial posts that are not flagged as spam. A controversial post for example will have a LOT of Agrees and a lot of Disagrees and 0 reports as spam. Sorting comments by controversial can be interesting. Sorting by purely agreeable comments/posts is also interesting. Sometimes I want to go to a post that I disagree with and would like to sort the comments by most disagreed. This is interesting. This uses all this data on the website and allows me to sort it in interesting autistic ways.

Unfoprtunately Poal is kinda retarded and wants us to use upvotes/downvotes as a "I like this!" and "This is Spam!" with no "I disagree with this this post" option. Its a retarded idea. Or maybe they have some autistic reason for doing it this way that gives them interesting insight into the way they aggregate tons of data. I think its just a little short-sighted.

This does seem lazy. A genuine down vote is a legitimate action. A shill account that does nothing but spam down votes is not. Obvious shill down voters should be outright banned, but saying people can't hit a button that signifies their disagreement is another issue. Had VOAT not been anonymous for the most part a blocking function would have helped with the shills, but from what I understand that's frowned upon here as well.
