I'm in the same boat. Switched to Palemoon way back when the Aurora UI overhaul raped Firefox, and the latter's political leanings didn't help. Been using Waterfox for several years for the same reason as you. Note that in many cases, you can disable the checks on addons and force an install for Palemoon. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
