I have the same issue. I haven’t figured out why. But, staying overly hydrated seems to help a little. What really helped me a lot is taking hardcore vitamins (in my case I took the Brain Sustain smoothie - total game changer BUT I’m sure one of those awful hardcore liquid vitamin supplements from gnc would help ... but take longer) in addition to water/Gatorade. I also switched to vodka. You can also take a little Benadryl. But, be careful with the Benadryl. I used to be able to take 4 in college and wake up feeling perfect ... now I find that depending on my general health ... I can sometimes only take 1/4 of a pill ... and if it’s after 7:30pm, I regret it the next day. Even though this doesn’t make immediate sense, I’ve found being sleep deprived sometimes prevents me from sleeping. I’m sure it’s hormone related, but get that sleep!
So, I bet it’s the mixture of many things. Don’t give up. Be kind to yourself. You’ll figure it out. In general, for me, I think it was malnutrition of some kind ... mixed with dehydration and maybe stress hormones.
Oh! I forgot kava root tea! When I was really bad one time, it also helped. It also can take the place of beer if you’re not drinking for social reasons. But even if you stop drinking, I’d consider staying more hydrated and taking more hardcore vitamins. This is a sign something (minor) is off and the alcohol triggers it.
Good luck! You got this!
