Did they actually claim it’s an “algorithm” ?

I mean, I guess technically they could argue that clicking a few menu items in succession is an “algorithm”, so it may not technically be lying.

Yes, they said it’s an algorithm. I have proof that an account that didn’t make one downvote was marked because he upset the mods.

Lies. The algorithm doesn’t do anything on accounts who aren’t downvoting, unless they use alts to downvote. Which is probably the case.

So keep inventing stuff and spread fake news. People aren’t dumb and know who you guys are.
