I'm ruined for any public outing. I used to do ok, I'd just keep to myself and attempt to enjoy whatever it is, like the aquarium or whatever. The Covid has been an effective excuse to require people to be extra good sheep.

We were gifted tickets for a light show, and I spent the entire time pissed off at the people in masks doing everything they were told to do which had no reason other than control, and the likely minimum wage workers barking orders at people. I had a hard time not slapping the temperature gun out of the hand of the guy who wanted to take my temperature to get on a trolley that isn't enclosed. Dude held the scanner less than four inches from my face. I won't go into all the examples of idiocy that I became so agitated about, I think most of us are familiar with them.

I've decided I will no longer participate in these kinds of events, and I can't decide if it's selfish because I have children, or if it's a positive role model behavior. I'm outraged at how easily people have been duped, that they're still wearing masks, they're feeding the beast.

Positive role model. My family and I went to the beach for a weak and I refused to wear it and explained why. Be the example for your family. If this was a real pandemic I'm sure you'd act accordingly.

You're right. It's so shitty this is what they get to grow up in.

Its good parenting in my eyes. Most kids parents are like zombies, doing whatever the TV tells them.

Same here. I'm a semi-pro musician, used to gig at least once a week. Bars all closed. Now a few are open and have live music, but the BAND HAVE TO WEAR MASKS...fuck off. Some of my musician frens do it...I will never speak to them again.

I think it is wise to set an example that you are not cattle to be bossed around. Living in an area that actually has cattle that needs to be bossed around, at least if you ain’t afeared enough to continue on your travel down the highway, well I think that alone helps a lot.

It makes me appreciate our Christmas parade this year even more. A chill in the air, crowds not anti-social distancing, and only the rarest masked bandit around. The down side was the fireworks got the dog too nervous, she even ignored the horses. One of these days she’s gonna figure out that loud booms always precede a damn good dinner.

Anyways, if your kids aren’t thoroughly indoctrinated into the urban and concentrated lifestyle, escape while you can.

We have a homestead and we home school, have for years. I saw the global bs happening early and pulled them out. Some days I just feel bad that they don't get to live like other kids do, but I wouldn't want them to be like other kids. It's hard as a child to be the different one and I wish I could find like minded people for them to feel some semblance of "normalcy."

I'm right there with ya. We usually purchase yearly passes to our local amusement park and zoo, but not this year. Fuck all the restrictions and people up in your space to take your fucking temp. As far as the kids go though, we took them camping a few times and had lots of fun tubing, water skiing and fishing on the lake.

This had to happen. 3% will fight this war. The rest are white noise, useless. Identify who will be useful and make friends with them. Fuck the rest.

It sounds like are in a city. Get out while you still can.

No, we're not, but we went to an outdoor gardens that is a big crowd drawing location. It's not in a city but lots of people go every year.

Then try something that is explicitly going to attract rednecks. Think demolition derby or rodeo. Either that or a Stop the Steal / Anti-Lockdown protest.
