I am a technical manager of a small group; meaning I get hands-on autonomy with hiring & training my team, and wide discretion for their pay, vacation, advancement, rewards/incentives, etc.
Recently, one of my best new employees (older than I am, in fact) caught his wife (5 kids!) cheating on him while he was at work, AND SOMETIMES WHILE HE WAS DEAD ASLEEP IN THE NEXT ROOM IN HIS OWN FUCKING HOUSE! (shift work)
When he told me about this, I made it very clear that I wanted to make every accommodation for him to come out of the divorce as strong as possible, and to that extent would accommodate any time needed for lawyering, hearings, etc. without him needing to take PTO. I also encouraged him to focus on his fulfillment in taking care of his kids and with his accomplishments at work (yeah, it's just a job, but men need this type of work for mental health).
We sat down today and spent extra time going through the remaining training and knowledge points for the equipment we run, so he could get an advancement and a raise EARLY.
I look out for my men. What I did in the military and what I do now - not just a convenient nice thing to do, but essential if we have any chance at getting society back under male control.
