Yesterday a few of you decided to go over to Reddit and kick the beehive...The predictable things happened. Every comment and post on Reddit was down voted to oblivion and the users were generally hostile calling Poal a den a right wing neo-nazis.

Also predictably, a few of them followed the trail back here and started posting pro-Democrat/anti-Trump content... and a few of you got triggered like a PETA member on a hunting trip.

If the first time you see content that does not reverberate with the echo chamber properly you instinctively reach for the down vote button then you are making this place no better than Reddit. That is the top of the slippery slope to vote brigades, shadow bans and censorship. Or did the users that down voted WANT Poal to be an echo chamber? DId some shills just out them selves?

Do better. BE better.

- I'm looking at you. Grow a fucking backbone

I try, too. I will also try harder. You guys work hard enough that you deserve it.

I will say that the best thing you can do is what I did and argue them into the ground. It could take some work but we have enough knowledge collectively here on Poal, we can win any argument together, especially if we work together.

We have to factually prove we are right. I recommend reading How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. It has some chapters about how to get people to change their minds and that people do not like to be told they are wrong. That's part of how I won my argument. If you keep (and metaphically mind you) wacking someone saying their wrong, that person will just be more emboldened.

No, no, no, no. I do not want to engage in arguments with people on reddit, let alone worry about winning them over.

Been there. Done that. Donated my copy to the local library.
I have no interest in convincing people I don't know of anything.

That's totally understandable and you do not have to. Everyone has a choice on what they would like to do.

I feel for myself, I should be doing more to reach out and talk to people who have opposing view points from what I have
