Used to be a redditor, went to Voat after the Ellen Pao fiasco.

When I first went to voat, it was much like it is here. real news being discussed.

Then came the DDOSes, and the take down requests, THEN the first admin "suddenly" decided he was "doing too much" and "voluntarily" stepped down from running the site and let and new "Admin" take over.

conveninently around the same time, racist sub reddits were banned and the ALL went to voat shouting racial slurs at the top of the lungs 24/7

A lot of these guys were outed as shills (ez to tell when you looked at their post history and frequency...nobody who has a job posts that much)

Unfortunately, the dammage was done, and new members stopped coming to the site after seeing all the "Racists" (shills) filling up the front page 24/7

Now the canary has finally died . . .of course the site was dead long before that.

A word of warning,

Don't let that happen here.

I also went from deadit to voat.

I joined voat very near its beggining. I enjoyed the simple fact you could post articles the msm were not interested in or blatantly ignored. Deadit deleted many of my posts and banned me for reposting them, so I jumped off the sinking ship.

I dont have a problem with black people as there arent any here.

But I can still be considered racist because I prefer my own kind! (Im green and from mars).

Voat was great at 1st but when users started using multiple alts to game the system, all for points that mean absolutely nothing, it went to hell in a hand basket.

Those subs I found annoying I just blocked.

It was also a honey pot for the 3 letter agencies. Most likely the same here?

As I dont use FB or subscribe to Twitter or any social media or play computer games. Voat taught me how stupid-nasty-funny-untrustworthy-educational-eye opening the internet can be. So it had its benefits.

People just have to have thick skin and learn to ignore the losers.

Also always remember their is an off button.

Likely? Yes. Are there lurking glowniggers? Certainly. Your stolen money called taxation guarantees it.

Definitely! Free speech is the only true speech. If I cannot speak freely, then I try not to speak at all. There would be no point.

I agree,. It's just voat is pretty much dead now, and with the Canary being compromised. . .I see no point in going there any longer. I may just start having to go to aggregate news sites to get the pure raw stories.
