Amazon execs were concerned that Gero’s take on the series would not have broad appeal beyond the franchise’s already dedicated fanbase.
In other words, this Martin Gero guy (who apparently worked on the original SG-1 show) likely wanted to make a Stargate show, and not a browns and homos fest.
Good. I liked the old Stargate. I did not have a good feeling about it in Amazon's hands.
