Thanks man. I loved the David eddings series 'the belgariad' and 'malorean' series. 10 books in total. Love those stories. I'm interested in the graphic novels you mentioned. Any chance you have a link to those?

I liked David Eddings.

Raymond Feist was always one of my favorites, when I was younger, though I fell off awhile back. He is still cranking them out.

I rarely have time to read fiction, anymore, and I find most of it to be heavily biased against my own personal values, these days, to the extent that much of it feels like an attack.

fantasy doesn't work with pc culture. Fantasy relies on racism to tell a compelling story.

Raymond feist rings a bell. He wrote the magician, right? I've read that too. Long time ago. Is he still writing books related to that series?

to the extent that much of it feels like an attack.

Could you explain that comment? I'm intrigued.

They are implementing new neurolinguistic programming as well as destroying an archetypal form of the story that young minds should be reading.

The whole point of reading is "experience taking", where you take on other people's experiences.

You don't want to take on a bunch of garbage experiences, because it will "pattern" your mind towards idiocy and emotional thinking.

History showed us the hero's tale, where we could identify with someone and take on their frame of mind. We learned how to stand up for ourselves and learned that truth and justice mean something.

More and more, the mainstream media is trying to bury actual education about the means in which to free yourselves. Rioting? Does not acquire political power. Posting on the Internet? Doesn't really do much unless you're very specific about how you do it. All of these stories that taught us how to get rid of slavers are being black washed. Now, the stories aren't even allowed to have heroes to identify with.

The identities they are programming are broken, so that, whatever identity you choose, you vote a certain way and you treat your own special version of mental illness. Think of them as "corporate approved identities" that come with their own special types of costs to maintain. Pink hair. Tattoos. Nose rings. Anti-depressants. Hormones. Addiction.

Smart, frugal people are being phased out. Not enough profit.

Then, there's the whole post-modern nihilistic slant on everything.

For those of us old enough to have been required to take Philosophy, we learned about all of that in a completely different context than it is currently presented.

Nirvana presented nihilism as a way of life.

Deconstructionism is a thought experiment to better inform someone in the process of understanding an item or system. Nihilism is the same thing; thought experiments. They aren't feasible as a way of life; they are important so that you can take a step back from an issue and rotate it between different points of view in your mind.

Sometimes, sophistry is the shortcut in conversation. Sometimes, the Socratic method is better. It's important to be mentally agile and that is the purpose of the lenses of different philosophies.
