Star, you most definitely have taken the bait, but I forgive you. I feel like I've already said my piece and he's said his. Even though the response surprised me, I may just have to accept it and move on.
Now for the airing of grievances:
@RepublicofTX, what the hell, man? /s/Heathens is my baby. I started it shortly after joining Poal and have pushed myself to learn new information just to have some content on the damn sub. Why would you come shit up my sub just because @the_old_ones posts there? None of what he posted there previously was drama-related, so you were in fact the one that brought the beef. We at /s/heathens are posters of PEACE.
@the_old_ones posts in /s/news too, but I suspect you wouldn't have done the same thing there. Probably out of respect for what that sub is, and for the admins who mod it. It's a shame poor Ivan and /s/heathens doesn't get the same courtesy.
Star, you most definitely have taken the bait, but I forgive you.
This is the most important sentence to me. I'll read the not-me parts, but this will be my favorite. Are you actually a pagan or more of a hobbyist?
That is a tough question. I usually refer to myself as a heathen in order to avoid it, since pagan implies active belief or worship of any number of deities. Instead of all that, I view native European deities as archetypes -- providing a mirror to both our history and psychology.
While I don't literally believe in those gods and their myths, I don't have a problem with that sort of thing. Nor does belief in and worship of YHWH bother me, as this plays an important role in my ancestry and culture as well. But since I do not accept Christianity wholesale, and have an interest in pre-Christian myths and traditions, I am a heathen.

I used to take a similar stance, until I started working with the occult. I now take the stance that they do truly exist as spiritual beings.
So, it's a bit like cultural paganism? I'm not sure that captures it though. I almost want to say Europeanism.
