Must admit, this is the first time I've found this written out in an instruction manual (Industrial ink-jet). Essentially amounts to 'idiot-proofing' and is usually only implied, lol.
Interesting aside: No mention of this in the original french language manual...

Poka-yoke was originally baka-yoke, but as this means "fool-proofing" (or "idiot-proofing") the name was changed to the milder poka-yoke. Poka-yoke is derived from poka o yokeru (ポカを避ける), a term in shogi that means avoiding an unthinkably bad move.
Interesting article, give it a read for some amusement.
German translation of 'fool-proof' is 'idiotensicher' so a fool-proofing mechanism would translate to 'Idiotensicherung' :)
