UV light does the trick as well. That's how most display Uranium Glassware, under a black light so it glows. I have a small collection in a glass display cabinet. In the case of fiesta ware that's dangerously radioactive then yeah you should bring a geiger counter. Personally I just don't buy fiestaware.

Chemically, when in the body, uranium will have a similar effect to lead.

I've been on a "get rid of as many toxins in my life as humanly possible" jag and having orange plates was one of those toxins. Fuckers went into the rubbish bin along with all the plastic and teflon shit.

Trying to find non-toxic dishware, pots and pans and glassware isn't easy but I'm getting there.

I've gone to Pyrex tupperware and cast iron pots/pans. And my instant pot. Have you heard anything adverse about Pyrex?

Instant pots are awesome, aint they? I haven't heard anything bad about them; they use the stainless inner pot and the silicone seal, so, hopefully they're okay. It's my understanding the big deal with pyrex is what it's made from: whether it will literally explode or not. Soda lime vs borosilicate.

Good old stainless steel is fairly safe and works well. There are some non-toxic ceramics with aluminum cores out there also.

Aluminum is implicated in alzheimers plaques so I try not to use aluminum- even deodorant. There's no definitive data but, the covid vax is safe too.

I use aluminum free deodorant also. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before folks wake up and protest aluminum substances in vaccines too.

I've got some red fiestaware from my grandmother (1894-1984). They still look like the day they were new. Quality.

I tend to like capsaicin over uranium for a spicy dish.

It's truly a different kind of heat.

Don't completely knock fiestaware. They're American made for one thing and still in operation. Also, the design has remained the same throughout production. They only change the colors available, but they look good mixed and matched.
