Wait till you find out how to pronounce Ikea. The English have always changed pronunciations or even names of "foreign" things. Ananas in the rest of Europe was changed to pineapple. My ancestral home, lost its v, Genova - Genoa. I'm not sure why, but there are tons of examples Peking, Bombay, Rome, etc.

I remember Hyundai ran a Super Bowl ad years and years ago telling people how to pronounce the name. "Hyundai. Like Sunday."

No surprise the Brits didn't catch on.
