When healthy, it can be self-motivating and drive you to overcome adversity and achieve success. When unhealthy, it can be a fast and enduring track to unhappiness.
I was an unhealthy perfectionist. Nothing was good enough to be completed, therefore, nothing ever got fully done (e: except due to outside force imposing and controlling me). Perfectionism is a problem. In most cases, 99% or 90% is good enough. At least, that is what I finally learned.
