Munchausen is a bitch and I think any of the kids that killed their parents because of it should get a slap on the wrist.
Those kids have their entire lives controlled, they're suffocated and their entire world view is essentially that they have ZERO power and can only live their lives the way their psycho mother(it's always the mother) wants. If you feel that trapped, then you'll go to extremes to un-trap yourself.

I experienced this personally while living with my mother after my parents divorced, she made up wild falsehoods about me to convince everyone who would listen that she was a struggling single mother who could barely handle her out of control problem child, and painted the worst picture of me possible in order to extract sympathy from strangers, then would talk shit to me about it behind closed doors and tell me I better do what she says or she'll make my life hell.
I moved out on my own when I was still in high school to escape it, and can confirm I thought about killing her every day just to put an end to her shit. Unless you've lived it you have no idea what it's like to essentially be a slave to a liar who is in complete control of your life and is being given the benefit of the doubt by strangers who are being convinced you're the problem, all the while you know she's 100% full of shit and is projecting insanity for attention at the expense of your life.
I moved to the opposite side of the country and haven't seen her in over a decade.
