Yeah those are reports of kids that temporary went missing, but 99% are are found back.
No: there are around 400.000 REPORTED missing. But most are found back later without harm.
Actual numbers are something like 150 kids a year disappearing and never found back.

People have been trying to get to the bottom of this for decades - most of the missing (correction that not all are kids) are off of state and national park lands, which led to a ton of stupid conspiracies about shapeshifting creatures, bigfoot, and aliens.
I've only ever seen one man possibly get close, by suggesting it was teams of men using hidden tunnels on these properties to get around and abduct people.
