The best gov is a benevolent dictator who cares about, and takes care of his people. Shit gets done.

Example - Look at the Roman built roads. Smooth(ish) 2000 year old roads that are still working today, vs the union run USA road builders that make it last just long enough to force a repair every few years and seem to be damaged and undeveloped from the moment it is opened to traffic. "It's the trucks", well bitch trucks are gonna drive on it so make it better.

The problem is, it never lasts due to the rulers boredom, reliance on lower individuals who let powers go to their heads, corruption, and punishments. Of course bad advice from trusted advisors doesn't help.

It always seems to turn into a clusterfuck after a few decades (or less) of absolute rule.

That's correct. Transition of power is always a huge problem too. In the case of natso, it never experienced a transition of power, never established a successful track record, the citizenry, the military, and even the SS all wanted Hitler dead, believing he was purposely losing the war, and natso is basically setup to run as a monarchy - without a family. Meaning natso, even if good, is susceptible to all of the woahs of a monarchy. For the problems you lay out and for all the textbook issues recorded and taught.

There's a reason the Jews had to convert our republic into a democracy to significantly subvert us.

Long game - start with the school children saying the pledge is racist (.....and to the republic for which it stands) and non inclusive (...under God), then start calling it a democracy. I've redpilled more libs about democracy vs republic by forcing them to repeat the pledge of allegiance back to me).

Now that kids don't say it anymore, in a few decades that part will be lost to history.
