I am, but only because I have a slow moving river on one side and large fast flowing creek on the other. Took me a couple weeks of watching videos on YT (before the search function went to shite) and less than 2 months worth of electric bills to build something that can power all my lights, fans, and other small appliances. I still use grid for AC, freezers, fridge, and tools but don't use heat so I reckon I save hundreds every year.
That's actually really awesome! Good on you. Does it look awesome?
Does it look awesome?
Lol. Absolutely not. Very crude as it started as an experiment. It is 600 feet from house to creek so the wires are only 1 foot deep. Whole thing started as just an experiment but once I get a boat dock built where I can have paddle generator closer to more turbulent currents.
Tbh I dug the 600 feet by hand in rocky clay so is not a project I looked forward to tackling again any time soon. I will rent a ditch witch to do everything properly next time.
