102 years ago, in 1920,1 million Bolshevik communist troops poured into Warsaw, Poland in preparation to conquer the entirety of Europe. The Battle of Warsaw, is sometimes referred to as "The Most Important Battle You've Never Heard Of," or simply as a miracle. Whatever you've heard, the epic battle took place when the Polish "David" slew the jewish Bolshevik "Goliath."
Young scouts, women, priests, & peasants joined the Polish army under Józef Piłsudski, against the Soviet's infantry, cavalry & armored vehicles. A hundred thousand of them gave their lives defending Poland's eastern borders, & suddenly, the tide changed. Father Ignacy Jan Skorupka, a 27-year-old priest, famously rallied Polish troops by waving a cross above his head & inspiring men to move forward. He died on August 14, 1920, the eve of the Assumption.
According to Polish legend, on "The Feast of the Assumption," the Virgin Mary interceded over the battlefield & made an appearance over Polish skies, & something happened. The Poles were able to stop the Bolshevik hordes & managed to push them back.
The decisive victory on the banks of the Vistula River stunned the world. Britain had advised Poland to give in, while Lenin & Stalin were furious, & humiliated. The Republic of Poland was spared, even if only for a moment. We now know that jewish Bolsheviks completely took over & infiltrated the city of Warsaw after WWI but that is a history lesson for another time.
