I've long had a theory that people who live in shithole countries, might have a harder time reaching "self awareness". The might be the fact that they are not secure enough within their environment and social circles to have the inclination or wherewithal to tackle abstract ideas. Furthermore, since the people in those shithole countries, won't strive to make their home a better place(by virtue of responsibility), the circle of shit continues to widen in permanence, never to return. While there may be other explanations for why a creature cannot reconcile self awareness, the larger picture still hinges on intelligence. Idiots breed idiots, because the idiots can't or won't change. If your average African male, would stick to having one kid, that he could feed and nurture, while staying on the home front to fix the village, that alone would instill some form of confidence in not only the offspring, but the mother, who surely only continues to have children, hoping that shell die in childbirth. Is it prejudiced to say that dogs always shit in the yard? No, because they just do. Minorities in 3rd world countries tend to be lower on the brain power scale, because the country is a shithole, and shitholes impact genetics, which in turn impacts the perception of said shithole. Africans, just to name one example, are impulsive, not to mention compulsive. Theyd jump through the great Ebola fire, just to get their dick wet. Throw drugs and alcohol in there, and you've got a wrecking ball to anything resembling rational and intelligent thought. Some have it, some don't.
