Another neat thing you can do with peroxide and bleach is disinfect with bleach and then get rid of the bleach with peroxide.
- Add 8 drops household bleach per gallon.
- Stir and let stand 30 minutes. If no chlorine odor is present after 30 minutes, repeat from #1.
- Add 8 drops household hydrogen peroxide per gallon.
Hydrogen peroxide reacts with sodium hypochlorite (bleach) to form oxygen, water, and salt. You will be left with disinfected water that has very little chlorine taste.
