Any East Coasters know that this is the storm we had been waiting for, the surf we deserve. All surfers who came up on the East Coast know the struggle of smaller waves, shorter periods, and the West Coast talking trash about how we don't know surf. Of course the number of world champions churned out by a 70-mile stretch of coast on Florid'as Space Coast alone says otherswise, as East Coast surfers learn to fight conditions to score gret rides even on not the best of waves whereas Westers take their breaks for granted.

Surfing the East Coast is a different game. It's full of making the best of what you have, chasing secret spots that appear and disappear as the Gulfstream creates and then destroys sandbars. It's about telling tales of surfng breaks that once were and may once be again (talkes that range from verified facts to solid legends to pure myth). It's about less crowded lineups and shorties if a wetsuit is needed at all. Butevery now and again things come together for a magical week when the right storm comes and gives us East Coasters an epic we'll all talk for years about.

Yeah yeah, if you live in Cali you're like, "Looks like close-out city. I guess I'd get wet." But for surfers up and down the Atlantic this was a week. Give us our moment. Oh, and again, we don't need your crowds and claimed pecking order. This was just good clean stoke.

Here's a link to some random videos (none of them my personal for obvious reasons on this site). This week, it sure wasn't your grandpa's average Florida or your cousin's usual Jersey shore.

Hope ya'll had fun. I know I sure did.
