The world today is filled with an endless stream of faux heroes. Celebrities, politicians, you name it and few actually deserve to be called heroes. But the world around us is filled with real life heroes, too ... ones who rarely get the credit they deserve and even when they do, it's a small story somewhere that is quickly forgotten. Some are great people ... others not so much, but in one moment they made a choice that was truly courageous. This is a sub to recognize those folks. Feel free to post any story or video where you feel someone went above and beyond to do something noteworthy and deserving of recognition.

Tossed my first post in there with desmond doss. IMHO one of the most inspiring folks to live.

Cool! You should advertise some of your own subs, Bud ... I just noticed you new gun sub 'gungrabbers' or whatever today and will start to post there, but didn't even know you made it and it's a good concept.

Can we post good news stuff like the grandma who goodified the nigger who broke into her home late at night?

[–] 3 pts

I don't care. that may fit better in the goodguyswithguns deal ... but I don't see why it wouldn't work here, too - LOL. Anyone is welcome to post as they please. If ya haven't figured it out by now, I let the subs I make pretty much run themselves, I'm not into heavy handed moderation. If someone thinks it fits, go for it ... I'll only yell at someone if they try to sell snake oil from India or such - LOL

This might blow your mind but that granny post I made earlier was an elderly black lady w/ a gun. Yeah, that guy breaking in was a nigger.

Yeah, she should be given a medal.

Good sub idea!

Yeah, I thought of it this morning when I posted the story that put herself between a car bent on running her kids over and pushing them out of the way. She wasn't a great person anyone would want to emulate, married to a black guy, six kids and pregnant with another, basically a welfare queen. But she did something good once in her life. So I thought ... ya know, we really don't have a place for all this kind of thing.

You know, the guy who puts his own life on the line to give someone he doen't even know a chance to live ... that kinda thing.

Yeah I've often thought western society doesn't give the real heroes the credit they deserve. Retail workers that deal with shitty customers, garbage men, sewer cleaners the people that make all the shit we take for granted work, those people in my view are heroes. Then there are the people like you pointed out that give their own life because it's the right thing to do. So many people that do not get the credit they deserve. We worship billionaires and celebrities who often times have the easiest lives of anyone, while the guy that makes sure we have running water gets looked down on. Its pretty upside down if you ask me.

You nailed that!

Any hero as long as you think they are a hero?

[–] 3 pts

Absolutely ... if you see heroism, it works for me. I'm not a stickler on sub moderation ... I just tossed out the idea and made a sub ... anyone is free to interpret it as they choose.
