If this ever happened to a kid of mine, I would take careful notes/recordings but not go public with it.

The main motivation for making something like this up is to get attention. If you seek no attention, it becomes believable as you have no motivation to be lying.

Would do this mostly just to remind the kid when he gets older. I think it'd be important to know if you were reincarnated, without wondering whether your dad lied to be on TV or possibly get a visit with royalty.
