I have a number of pre-Vietnam Farnsworth Image Multiplier tubes. They've always been green.
I've heard similar stores about people that would do a mag dump into darkness on guard duty during their mandatory conscription in Yugoslavian army. They would also claim to have seen monsters and demons in the dark. These people would also be sent home for a week on a stress leave, or/and moved to easier (non-combat) roles like logistics or signals.
People who can’t be trusted with a gun in the field end up working in the post office. 🤣
Bruh, the AN/PVS-2B is cathode tube based. It’s not red. And the fuckers weighed 6 lbs- for a single optic. they weren’t goggles,
this was in a documentary or something
demons could be seen by the red tinted night vision
This is a cool story. The LT finally puts them goggles on to see what the hell is going on, sees flying ass demons coming out of the trees coming right at him.
cant have those demons getting shot at gotta save that ammo for the VC
I've read about something called "dicyanin dye" for the first night goggles. Apparently banned today
