I was listening to one of those "history" podcasts on Spotify and the jewish reporter has some interesting commentary.

He was talking about the mysticism of the Hellenistic period and how Greeks would constantly look for signs from the gods and consult oracles and then postulated that the rulers were just using mysticism to manipulate the masses.

This commentary is interesting if one were to view it as a projection of values. That perhaps this jew is in on a little secret that his organized religion is just a means to manipulate the masses. A means that requires there to be no mysticism. That requires there to be no new prophecy and for there to be no seers of the future. For there to be no oracles and for there to only be one god.

Since they still look for a political leader as their messiah, it's kind of like a part of their religion to manipulate the masses and make the conditions ripe for their leader to bring in the new jew-ruled world.
