This plaque is on the side of an 11 story mixed use (commercial on bottom residential on top) building in downtown Nigburg, USA. The plaque is by the side door next to the dumpsters.

Edit: Since no one got it yet here is the building. Don't fucking ask why I was in Detroit. I just hope I never have to go back.

Not sure, but the bottom row is a 180 flip of the top row.

the squares are the most frequently occurring followed by rectangles. the other shapes each only occur once

I'm hijacking the top comment to restate what I think may be the solution and why.

I think this is the solution (pic8.co)

It matches the Mirror/inversion theme. In fact it's a perfect match.

It reveals the 'up arrow', the only unknown character.

The 'up arrow' is the only character that matters, it points to the number 139. In other words the sign is just the address number '139'.

The 'up arrow' is a nod to social media where the puzzle will likely be posted/pondered and also the reward for the person that solves it.

That's my theory anyway. What say you?

Edit: Nevermind @RomanSalute has solved it... https://pic8.co/sh/jkDJdS.jpg

that cant be right. you could draw almost anything with 1 line touching a random number of blocks

Watch all of Stargate SG-1 and you'll know.

Kidding, ask Daniel Jackson, he'll figure it out with a little help from Sam Carter. Just in time before a critical point in the plot.

And where was he going to go, anyway? Everything he owns is in those bags. His grants have all run out. He was evicted from his apartment...

"That's right, it goes in the square hole"

the numeric font is unique, it's a modern geometric, but very few modern fonts have a rounded 3, but they were used in the 80s

the 1 has no foot, so not a classical font

the 9 with a vertical tail, I've never seen that before on any font

the kerning is exaggerated too

it's quite close to the Ano font (identifont.com), apart from the tail on that 9, it's possible they just rotated the 9 without realising because it looks a bit ugly like that

.

the 1st and 3rd rows are not just logically flipped, they are physically rotated.

the 4th rectangle in the top rectangle is at the bottom, in the third row it is at the top

if these were symbols with meaning then that rectangle would have have remained on the bottom of its row?

I think it's like an IQ test puzzle

interesting though, maybe the OP could find out who the door belongs to?

I can't dig up much on this, maybe ask the concierge?

I've asked someone who might know, I'll post back if I find anything

It is Thieves' Guild marking indicating value of loot and potential danger to the thief.

This location has primo loot, veteran armed security, and you can fence the items you steal from them on site during the save visit paying an 8% commission for any non unique item.

It's an Escape Room designed by a nigger, so you "escape" INTO the building instead of out

[–] 1 pt

Black people always play escape rooms in reverse. They break into places.

It's plausible it's a puzzle, each symbol representing a number, symbols either side of the equal sign must add up to 139?

The first 5 symbols and the last five symbols are the same but inverted vertically and horizontally

Probably just some made up contemporary design BS

It says "Let's go Brandon" in Zaten.
