Yes, it appears to me, someone has these fetishes about fakeness. They seem to dwell on theater and illusion. Rather than try to keep people grounded in reality entire industries are focused on illusion. Just looking at entertainment, an enormous effort is put into making effects appear real so our minds don't need to do it for us. So called news isn't news at all, rather propaganda. Education isn't education, it too is propaganda. The food industry is fake too as it uses all kinds of engineered components to make food look more appealing, smell more appealing, taste like advertising suggests, last longer, harvest easier and so on. Then there is the social aspect where enormous effort is put into making us believe all people are the same. Our so called money isn't real, and so on. This is simply a lie.

Where I get curious is all of this requires substantial effort and cost. It's not like this emerges naturally. Someone or some group is expending tons of resources to make us believe all these lies and illusions. I ask why? Who?
