The rational, intelligent part of me knows that the various crypto-creatures put forth in pop culture are in all probability fake. Over the years, all of the various photographers of pics supposedly providing evidence have all eventually come out and admitted that they made the whole thing up. Which had to be sort of embarrassing for all of the "experts" who staked their own reputations on the pics being authentic.
But still. There's still within me some small vestige of the child, that still secretly hopes that there remains some little bit of magic hidden somewhere in the world. Some mysteries that have somehow remain unfound, undisturbed and, as yet, uncrushed beneath the remorseless iron gears of the modern world.
Do I believe "Nessie", "Champ" and "Bigfoot" exist. Sadly, no. I cannot honestly say that I do.
But I still kind'a hope. Just a little bit.
